New Award Category Added for 12th OFN Volunteer Awards

We are thrilled to announce the return of Ottawa Festival Network's Volunteer Awards!

About the Awards

Back for it's 12th edition, this annual event celebrates the talent and dedication of all the volunteers that contribute to the National Capital Region's vibrant festival and event scene.

OFN Member Organizations nominate and invite their outstanding volunteers to gather alongside their peers, friends and family for a well-deserved night of recognition. This year's event will be held on October 29th, 2026 at Overflow Brewing Company.

Collectively, over 16,000 volunteers rally together every year to make all of the different events possible. As vital as they are to the sector, and with the event coinciding with Halloween, OFN has marked this year's event theme as celebrating volunteers as the "lifeblood of the industry" with a fun vampire-costume component.

New Award Category

We've added a 5th award category to recognize Veteran Volunteers! Those who have dedicated multiple years of service to a festival, fair or special event organization and contribute to the long-term stability and continuity in the sector.

Nominations Open Now

Ottawa Festival Network member organizations are now invited to submit nominations for the 5 different categories. Nominations are accepted until October 1st, 5PM ET.

The categories are:

Rookie Volunteer of the Year - first time volunteers

Youth Volunteer of the Year - 18 years or younger

Adult Volunteer of the Year - 18 - 55 years of age

Senior Volunteer of the Year - 55 years or older

Veteran Volunteer of the Year - long term volunteers

Winners will be randomly drawn at the in-person event on October 29th.
