BREAKING: Canada Day doesn't just happen on Parliament Hill. There are a ton of events happening around town, outside of the downtown core. There is something for everyone and it's time to celebrate, so get out there and

Events

Walter Baker Park June 29 4:00PM – 10:00PM June 30 10:00AM – 10:00PM July 1 8:00AM – 10:30PM FREE Canada Day? More like Kanata Day. Canada Day in Kanata is Kanata’s premier Canada Day event. With two full days of programming for all ages, the event promises live bands, family fun zones and a beautiful display of fireworks! Head out to Walter Baker Park to join the celebrations.

Petrie Island 11:00AM – 10:30PM FREE Come out to Petrie Island for a day full day of family fun! With a magic show, a dedicated kidzone, live music, food trucks and a fireworks show this is one event you do not want to miss.

Canada Agriculture and Food Museum 11:00AM – 9:00PM Tickets ($25 + taxes and fees) This is THE Canada Day event for beer lovers! Dominion City will be pouring over a dozen of their own beers, plus select beers from 15 other breweries. Along with the amazing beer selection there will be delicious eats, live music and games! This is a family friendly event. Learn more.

Clarke Fields Park June 28 – June 30 12:00PM – 10:30PM July 1 8:00AM – 10:30PM FREE Head over to Clarke Fields Park for a four day fair, culminating on Canada Day with three stages of live entertainment, a Kidz Zone, Seniors Breakfast, and many artisan and food vendors! Get the full schedule here.

Museums

10:00AM – 2:00PM FREE Canada’s Cold War Museum is hosting a Canada Day party! There will be tons of family friendly activities, including a scavenger hunt through the entire 4 story underground bunker, an obstacle course, a reptile show by Little Ray’s Reptiles, and much more. There will also be a BBQ with hot dogs and veggie dogs, as well as drinks and frozen treats. Get tickets here (event is free, but you have to preregister)

9:00AM – 5:00PM FREE Celebrate Canada Day with free admission to the Canada Science and Technology Museum. Throughout the day they will have a number of exciting, hands-on activities for you and your family such as a chance to play with Nintendo’s LABO and Pyro-Techno experiments! Learn more.

9:30AM – 4:30PM FREE Besides Dominion Day, Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is hosting a ton of other great activities on Canada Day. Meet different Canadian livestock breeds, get your face painted, learn how to make ice cream, take a tour of the historic grounds and more!

9:00AM – 4:00PM FREE The Canada Aviation and Space Museum and NAV CANADA invite everyone to a great day of fun and entertainment! Check out the schedule of demonstrations and performances here.
