The third annual Ottawa Asian Night Market is upon us! Avoid sitting on a plane for half a day and instead make your way to the heart of Ottawa’s Chinatown to indulge in an authentic street market. Get yourself some incredibly unique dishes such as squid on a stick, Korean corndogs, pan-fried dumplings, bubble tea, bubble waffles and so much more! You’ll also be able to take Instagram-worthy travel photos around the Ottawa Chinatown Royal Arch as well, to become the envy of all your friends and followers. TGIF! The Great India Festival is back to celebrate its eighth year of bringing Indian culture and cuisine to Ottawa. The schedule for this extraordinary event is packed with musical and dance performances, such as a show featuring Grammy nominee Ustad Ashish Khan and Pandit Sandip Burman. There will also be a whole host of culinary and art demonstrations for all to enjoy and learn more about Indian culture. You won’t have to hop on a plane to enjoy a slice of India, just come on down to The Great India Festival!

Can’t get enough of Indian culture and food? Not to worry! Celebrating its 10 anniversary this year, South Asian Fest strives to bring out the best of South Asian Culture into one city for a 10-day bonanza! Not only does the last weekend featuring some of the most incredible artists including Miss Pooja, Sherry Mann and other local artists, but a variety of events will be available to cater to your interests. These include A South Asian women’s speaking panel at the NAC, a boat cruise across the Rideau Canal, a food fair and much more!
Both The Great India Festival and South Asian Festival take place at City Hall. TGIF takes the stage from August 9-11 while South Asian Fest has separate events and gears up at City Hall from August 14-18.
