Her wit flashes with quicksilver humour; her insight unveils hidden truths in poetic turns of phrase; her mischievous sense of humour is delightfully suited to tales of ...murder! Mary’s delivery is always spot-on, a perfect foil for the goings-on she will reveal. Mary has entertained numerous audiences at the NAC’s Fourth Stage, the Tea Party, the Shenkman Arts Centre, the Billings Ghost Walk, conferences, workshops and adult education programs. MYSTERY: Raised on stories, Sherri Yazdani was thrilled to discover the Ottawa StoryTellers in 2005. Since then, she has been performing in venues of all sorts - from tea rooms to board rooms, from schools and retirements communities to baby showers and hockey parties. Sherri has performed frequently at the NAC’s 4th Stage and was part of the highly successful 12-hour (!) performance of Homer’s Odyssey in 2012. She is particularly fond of historical and personal material, and enjoys creating her own material. Her engaging performance style will leave you wanting much more mystery in your life. MAYHEM: Captivated by the spoken word at a young age, Daniel Kletke has brought stories to audiences at festivals, schools, museums, and campfires from Toronto to Halifax. He is most often heard telling stories from classical mythology or local history and makes the old epics both vibrant and moving. He also enjoys performing at Ottawa StoryTellers’ annual murder mystery at Billings Estate National Historic Site, two years ago taking on the role of the famous detective, Philip Marlowe, and last year of a mad anarchist. Daniel has an English degree from the University of Ottawa and also has training as a visual artist. He lives and works in his home town of Ottawa. MUSIC: A third-year BMus student at the University of Ottawa, Fiona Armstrong is studying cello performance with Professor Paul Marleyn. Since beginning to learn the cello at the age of 8, studying with Margaret Tobolowska, Fiona has dreamt of pursuing her musical studies to a professional level, and has welcomed many opportunities to perform, including orchestra, quartets, piano trios, and cello ensemble, and recent collaborations with Ottawa-based artists. Over the past two years, Fiona has studied at Orford Arts Centre with Brian Manker and Roman Borys, and has performed in master classes for Uri Vardi, Denise Djokic, John Ehde, and Hans Jorgen Jensen among others. Last year, Fiona was the recipient of the Helen Nininger Scholarship in Music through the University of Ottawa.
