On Monday May 5th 2014, the National Arts Centre's 10th anniversary Music Monday Showcase Concert and Webcast will be co-hosted by CBC Ottawa News anchor Lucy van Oldenbarneveld and young aspiring trumpet-player Malcolm Horava (2014 Kiwanis Music Festival trophy-winner). Performances will include a string quintet by members of the NAC Orchestra, flamenco guitarist Servantes, and local award-winning franco-ontarian artist YAO. Additionally, the NAC has recruited over 400 children from 10 local elementary schools and youth choirs to perform alongside the Cantiamo Girls Choir, the Cantiamo Training Choir and the Ottawa Children's Choir under the direction of Jackie Hawley. Stellae Boreales, the Ottawa Suzuki Strings violin ensemble, will also perform alongside the NAC Music Monday massed choir. On May 5th, the NAC will be joining more than one million students from across Canada in this annual celebration!
