The holiday season is upon us and even though it is an unconventional winter, there are still Ottawa festivals with events to help you #GetFestive. Here are the virtual and modified festival events being offered this winter season:
Magic of Lights in Ottawa | November 13 - January 9, 2021
Wesley Clover Parks presents the Magic of Lights drive through with a series of light displays featuring holiday themes with a variety of characters. Tickets available here.
A Country Christmas at Saunders Farm | November 28 - January 3, 2021
A Country Christmas at Saunders Farm offers a nighttime Drive-Through experience through their farm and forest. After the drive through there is a night patio and Farm Shop with mulled wine, craft beers, hot drinks, seasonal treats and Beavertails for purchase. There are also pre-cut Christmas trees, homemade wreaths and unique gifts in the Saunders Farm Shop. During the day Saunders Farm offers hayrides, social-distanced visits with Santa in his sleigh, snow covered mazes and more shopping and activities on the farm.
The Enchanted Holiday Drive | December 1 - 22
DNA Live, the team behind The Drive-In Experience & Deadwood Haunted Drive bring you Ottawa's newest and most immersive holiday drive through experience. The drive through features 8 Live Scenes, 15+ Actors each night, Santa Live, a Giant Mailbox for letters to Santa and more. Tickets available here.
RBC Bluesfest and Federal Republic of Germany Advent Calendar | December 1 - 24
RBC Bluesfest has partnered with the German Embassy to spread holiday cheer with a musical advent calendar! The "song a day" project will bring performances from December 1 - 24th from a variety Ottawa based performers.
Virtual Santa Shuffle | December 5 - 12
The Salvation Army is presenting the Santa Shuffle race and fundraiser virtually with the opportunity to participate over the course of a week. The closing ceremony will announce the national contest winners on December 12th.
Carefor Virtual Safe at Home Gala | December 10 at 7PM
Carefor is hosting a virtual Gala to celebrate Ottawa with special guests including Mayor Jim Watson and esteemed local culinary author, Margaret Dickenson. There will also be a performance from local crooner, Shawn Marino and the chance to win 1 of 10 food baskets donated to Carefor from Ottawa's renowned Chef David Godsoe of Restaurant E18hteen and Reif Estate Winery!
Carp Fair 11th Annual Santa Clause Parade | December 12 at 7PM - 9PM
Local community groups and organizations will set up their exhibits and displays in a family-friendly Christmas theme, just as they would do for the annual Carp Parade and cars will drive through the fair grounds to see the floats. There is no admission fee, though cash and food donations to the West Carleton Food Access Centre will be greatly appreciated.
Theatre Wakefield Presents: A Gift of Traditions, Old and New | December 19 at 7PM
Theatre Wakefield's Youth Virtual Holiday Variety Show will showcase recorded performances of music, comedy, dance, art and more in the theme of honouring diverse traditions. The show will be available on Theatre Wakefield's Facebook page.
Ottawa New Year's Eve Charity Ball Virtual Auction | December 28 - 31
The New Year’s Eve Charity Ball will be celebrated virtually for 2020 with the virtual auction. There are over 75 items to bid on and proceeds from the auction will go to support Journey House, which provides residential options and programs for young people challenged with developmental disabilities.
Christmas Lights Across Canada | December 17, 2020 - January 7, 2021
The virtual Christmas Lights Across Canada show takes you on a magical cross-Canada journey that will amaze young and old alike. The show will feature numerous artistic performances in the company of Gregory Charles and various talented Canadians.
