France's Ensemble Variances - Ottawa Debut Nov. 12

November 7, 2017 OTTAWA – France's Ensemble Variances makes their Ottawa debut Nov. 12 at Dominion-Chalmers United Church, in a performance featuring Claude Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun (Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune). The six-piece ensemble, led by acclaimed new music composer Thierry Pécou, will also introduce two of Pécou's most celebrated compositions, alongside favourite works by Igor Stravinsky and Astor Piazzolla. Known as a "master of perpetual motion" (Le Figaro), Pécou's group features violin, cello, clarinet, piano, saxophone and flute.
