The #GetFestive Team made its debut this summer at the Canada Day 2019 Launch at the National Arts Centre. A short but exciting event, the launch captured everything incredible about our country with live performances from the drumming group Zuruba and Karim Ouellet, a Juno award-winning musician. Notably, our Minister of Heritage and Multiculturalism, the Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, participated in some seriously rad drumming with Zuruba, along with dishing the details on the TWO-DAY Canada Day party this year. That’s right: Canada Day 2019 will be a two-day event this year, with exciting events happening on the hill and at Major’s Hill Park on June 30th and of course, July 1st. Both days will feature incredible Canadian talent, including Brett Kissel, the Strumbellas, Coeur de Pirate, said the Whale, Tokyo Police Club and K’naan. The NAC Orchestra will also have a featured spot on the Canada Day stage on the hill. Along with our singing stars, we will also have dance performance from ballet Jazz Montréal. This launch event made for heightened anticipation for one of Canada’s biggest parties of the year! If the hype matches seeing Minister Rodriguez slaying the drums, we absolutely can’t wait to be there! » Visit the #CanadaDay2019 website
