Submit an application at ottawafringe.com Deadline: December 1 at 5pm Lottery: December 9 at Arts Court Fringe Festivals aren't curated. That's to say, no one sifts through applications saying yes to some and no to others. Rather, the Festival's venues are programmed by a lottery. A straightforward process: the first lot of names selected have a place in the Ottawa Fringe Festival (June 18–28, 2015) while the remainder hang tight on a waiting list. Your venue comes with a technician or two plus box office services at no extra charge. As always, 100% of ticket sales are returned to the performers. Applications are now available with a December 1 deadline. The draw will take place during a party, December 9 at Arts Court. Save the date–details forthcoming! 50% of lottery spots are reserved for Ottawa-Gatineau artists. 30% are reserved for national artists (applying from elsewhere in Canada) and the remaining 20% for international artists. Two spots are held for youth companies. Bring Your Own VenueAny artist is welcome to BYOV at the Ottawa Fringe Festival. Some who are too far down the waiting list choose this route, while others opt to BYOV with a site-specific performance in mind. In 2014, 18 of the Festival's 60 productions were BYOVs. These 18 added nine venues to the Festival's five. As with those entering via lottery, the Festival provides box office services to BYOVs at no extra cost. However, you'll be required to bring your own technician, too–if the show requires a technician, of course. BYOV applications will be made available in January 2015.Contact the Festival Director with any questions.
