The Trinidad & Tobago Association of Ottawa (TTAO) will host TrinbaGo Day on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Ave. West, Ottawa from 12:00 noon - 6:00 p.m. Formerly known as TrinbaGold Day, introduced on August 25, 2012 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Independence of Trinidad and Tobago, TrinbaGo Day is an opportunity for Trinidad & Tobago nationals to celebrate their culture and heritage as well as showcase it to the wider Canadian community. The event will comprise of varying booths hosted by community based businesses and organizations in Ottawa. This year, the TTAO is particularly excited to have on display high quality handicraft items direct from Trinidad and Tobago. The Export Centres Company Ltd. (ECCL), a State Agency under the purview of the Ministry of Community Development, will be sending a delegation to Ottawa to showcase items produced by micro-entrepreneurs under their tutelage, guidance and support. In addition there will be entertainment comprising of Steelpan music, Afro-Caribbean dance and story telling. Of course there will be a D.J. supplying music to make patrons do their happy dance! To whet the appetite, authentic “Trini” food prepared by Mugena Caribbean Restaurant and drinks from the TTAO Bar will be available for sale. This will be a fun filled day with entertainment for the entire family. Come out and be pampered by hospitality that is uniquely “Trinbagonian”!
