Writer: Hayley CombaluzierHayley Combaluzier

Theatre Wakefield Benefit Theatre Wakefield and Filum Productions present "A Confession: Based on the book by Leo Tolstoy” – One show only on Sunday, May 21st, 2017 at 2:00 PM in beautiful Gwen Shea Hall, Centre Wakefield La Pêche, Wakefield QC. This is a fundraiser for Theatre Wakefield’s New Works Program providing dramaturgy support to new and local playwrights. Tickets are $20 and are available online through https://centrewakefieldlapeche.ca/event-2514157 Always stretching the boundaries and on the heels of their great success with “Into the Woods”, Theatre Wakefield offers an inspiring one-off play. When one of the most brilliant writers of all time begins to lose the security that underpins his existence and then proceeds to document his path to freedom with self-rigour and clarity and even humour, it is surely worthy of attention. Using Tolstoy’s own words, actor Peter James Haworth and director Julie Le Gal have crafted an inspiring story of a deep thinking and feeling person’s journey from inner chaos and confusion into a minefield of religion, philosophy, sciences and personal history leading eventually towards a beautiful discovery of a powerful reason to be in the world. This year Theatre Wakefield celebrates its 15th Anniversary. We have grown from community theatre to a cultural service provider for the Lower Gatineau Valley. Throughout that time and beginning with the late director/dramaturge and filmmaker, Robert Rooney, we have coached and promoted regional playwrights and their work. Now, Mr. Haworth fills that role and will direct, this Fall, the latest play from one of our celebrated writers, Mr. John Hardie. Any person who appreciates fine writing and acting, who is looking for ideas on how to approach the journey or who believes in supporting our work and that of new writers, is encouraged to attend this special event. Tickets will go quickly. Please book early.
