The One World Film Festival presents it's 25th Anniversary edition. Join us from September 25th – 27that the Library and Archives Canada for Ottawa's longest-running documentary film festival. With a focus on human rights and environmental activism, the OWFF is presenting 5 award-winning feature documentaries, 2 panel discussions, and a Master Class with director John Fiege, co-presented by SAW Video Media Art Centre.
On opening night, September 25th, Austin-based director and co-producer John Fiege and Anita Grabowski will be special guests of the festival for a discussion following the screening of their film, Above All Else, about Texan landowners and activists who tried to stop construction of the Keystone XL pipeline - a $7 billion dollar project slated to carry tar sands oil from Canada to refineries on the Texas Gulf Coast. A 25th Anniversary Celebration with DJ, birthday cake, and cash bar will follow at 9PM in the foyer of Library and Archives.
"Above All Else is a devastating, beautifully shot portrait of an intimate, deeply personal struggle embedded with broad implications, from indigenous peoples’ tribal autonomy to permanent climate change. It’s a movie everyone should see."
