The National Capital Commission will host two events in celebration of National Aboriginal Day

To celebrate National Aboriginal Day, the National Capital Commission (NCC) invites you to join us for two events on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at the Capital Urbanism Lab

Indigenous Architecture and Design
6 pm to 8 pm

As part of its Capital Urbanism Lab lecture series, the NCC presents a discussion on First Nations architecture and design. Renowned Aboriginal architects will provide an overview of their most recent projects, and share their philosophy on architecture and design.

An evening with Indigenous Authors
8:30 pm to 10:30 pm

In collaboration with the Ottawa International Writers Festival, is the NCC hosting an evening of exceptional literary talent, featuring the Parliamentary Poet Laureate, George Elliott Clarke, of the Eastern Woodland Metis Nation Nova Scotia. Joining him is Algonquin elder, poet and artist Albert Dumont, Cree poet Louise Bernice Halfe (Skydancer), Tuscarora poet and playwright Daniel David Moses, and Mohawk poet and spoken word artist Janet Marie Rogers.
