Sparks Street open for New Year’s Eve Capital Countdown

That’s right, merchants on Sparks Street are getting ready for the city’s largest outdoor New Year’s Eve party! Restaurants and pubs will have their heaters on high and their doors open, ready to welcome New Year’s Eve Capital Countdown revellers. “Just over two weeks until the Sparks Street BIA hosts the biggest New Year's Eve Party in Ottawa and everyone’s really excited about it” says Les Gagne, Executive Director of Sparks Street. “Restaurants and pubs are putting together their own New Year’s Eve parties in conjunction with Sparks Street’s Capital Countdown, so we’re expecting it to be even bigger and better than last year’s celebrations!” This is the 2nd annual New Year’s Eve on Sparks Street. This year, the party will cover three blocks of Sparks from Bank Street to Elgin Street. Juno award-winning artist K-OS headlines an amazing line-up of Canadian talent including Loon Choir, the Cardboard Crowns and the Mohrs. 8barz will spin tunes right up to the Maple Leaf Drop and a sea of confetti at midnight!
