Senators Sports & Entertainment (SSE) announced today a new partnership with Ticketmaster that will see all tickets sold for SSE events, including Ottawa Senators hockey games and Canadian Tire Centre events take place over Ticketmaster platforms. As part of this partnership, effective July 1, 2016, Ticketmaster will replace Capital Tickets as the primary ticket provider for all Senators Sports & Entertainment venues. The move to Ticketmaster allows the Senators to align much more closely with rest of the National Hockey League, where 25 of the 30 teams (and six of seven Canadian teams) operate using the Ticketmaster platform. “We’ve been reviewing our ticketing operations for the last six months and have made the decision to move our ticketing platform back to Ticketmaster after 13 years,” said Tom Gillis, general manager, Capital Tickets. “While we have been well served by Capital Tickets and the Paciolan software, this was an opportunity to align ticketing technology with both the NHL and Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM), which will be an important step for the future growth of the business and the organization. We expect that in the years to come, this alignment will make a significant difference to fans in the ease, convenience and benefits of purchasing Senators tickets.” As part of this move to Ticketmaster, both the box office at Canadian Tire Centre and the call centre will remain in place and fans will continue to be able to purchase tickets online. Additional information on the details of purchasing tickets will be communicated to fans prior to the July 1 transition taking place.
