Searching for a fantastic family affair? Get ready for a thrill at these upcoming fairs!

Summer is slowly coming to an end but that doesn’t mean that the fun stops there! August and September are busy months filled with entertainment for festival goers of all ages. Afraid you’ll be fairever alone? Think again because these upcoming fairs are a great date idea. From midways, horseback riding, live entertainment plus a ton of food and beverages, you are guaranteed days full of amusement and laughter.   Navan Fair (August 9th- 12th) https://www.instagram.com/p/BXtuWYYA7u3/?taken-by=navanfair Hold on tight because the annual Navan Fair will be taking off the August and September fair scene here in the nation’s capital. Located in the East end of Ottawa at the Cumberland Township Agricultural Society, you can appreciate some summer country festival motives/traditions and learn about farmers life. Engage in some live entertainment like music shows, horseback riding competitions, a superdog show, ancient agricultural exhibitions, a parade to end the festival and so much more! Looking for a fun way to spice up your Friday and Saturday night? You’ve come to the right place as the festival also includes a beer dome with amazing live country acts and a cover charge of $10 on both nights. Day passes to the festival are $12 for the general public, $3 for children ages 4-12, and free for children under the age of 3.   Capital Fair (August 17th-26th) https://www.instagram.com/p/BXBjgc4A9Rx/?taken-by=thecapitalfair This outstanding family friendly event will be taking place in the South end of Ottawa at the Rideau Carleton Raceway. An endless amount of activities await, including Eastern Ontario’s largest midway with over 30 amusement rides, extreme motorsport and horse shows, a kids area and amazing fair foods! All day mega pass bracelets are $28 in advance online or at any quickie convenient store from July 10th- August 16th. Midway is free on Friday, August 17th from noon to 1pm. Gate admission to the fair is $4 which gives you access to most of the activities on site like the demolition derby, live stage, animal shows, the petting zoo and more! Come by on Saturday morning for the parade and leave with some amazing memories to last a lifetime. This incredible 3-day event promotes agricultural awareness within the city of Ottawa. General admission to the event is $10, $5 for children 6-12 and children under 5 are free. Catch Toonie Thursday where all midway tickets are $2, or on Friday where the unlimited midway ride bracelets are going for $30 from 12-11pm! Looking for an out of this world experience? This year the Richmond Fair will also be featuring helicopter rides, which will keep you soaring on cloud 9.   Carp Fair (September 20th-23rd) https://www.instagram.com/p/BknEpSuHtcu/?taken-by=carpfair The 155th annual Carp Fair will be hosting their magical 3-day event in the West end of Ottawa. For $2 on opening night (Thursday, September 20th) appreciate some live music, world-class horse shows, a rodeo, magic and puppet shows, as well as a petting zoo all in one place! Early bird passes for the general public are $12 and $6 for children over the age of 5, online or in office until September 21st at 4pm.
