Party Safer & Naloxone Training for Festival Organizers

Writer: Hayley CombaluzierHayley Combaluzier

OFN's February Industry Call focused on the Party Safer and Naloxone training initiative spearheaded by the City of Ottawa and Ottawa Public Health. To help combat the rising concerns of substance abuse and opioid overdose in Ottawa, the Party Safer initiative is extending free Party Safer and Naloxone training to festival and event organizations. Party Safer and Naloxone Training 2023 E-Flyer Ottawa Public Health (OPH) highly encourages festival and event organizers to share the above e-flyer with their event staff and volunteers. OPH is also asking for your help to encourage people to register early. The flyer outlines all the no-cost virtual training dates available in April, May, and June (click on a preferred date to register). If by any chance none of the dates/times work, please reach out to OPH to explore other options. You can click on downloadable .pdf visuals in the flyer to use on social media leading up to an event. The visuals and posters can also be printed and posted in high traffic areas at events (ex. bathrooms, registration tents etc.). This e-flyer also includes a QR code to the Party Safer section of the city’s event planning resources page. Resources that were discussed during last month’s meeting:
