Ottawa's Music Industry Goes National, Announces Nominees for the 2025 Capital Music Awards

OTTAWA, ON – January 17, 2024 The Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC) is proud to announce the nominees for the 2025 Capital Music Awards (CMAs), a celebration of the incredible talent and diversity within Ottawa’s vibrant music community. For the first time since its inception in 2020, the CMAs will be presented by the National Arts Centre with thanks to the City of Ottawa for their continuous support. This year’s nominees, revealed earlier today, represent the best of Ottawa’s music scene across a wide range of categories. From emerging artists to industry veterans, the 2025 nominees showcase the remarkable artistry and dedication that make our city a true Music City. The Capital Music Awards gala, set to take place at the National Arts Centre’s Southam Hall on May 22nd, 2025, at 8:00 PM ET, will honour these nominees and their contributions to the region’s music ecosystem. The event promises to be a night to remember, filled with live performances, special guests, and the presentation of awards recognizing excellence in music. Tickets for the gala are now available at www.ottawamic.com/cma . Public voting is now live in five key categories. Fans can show their support by casting votes for their favourite artists, music educators, and more at www.ottawamic.com/cma . Voting will remain open until February 14th, 2025 at 5:00 PM ET.
