Ottawa’s Arboretum Music Festival full lineup now online and tickets now on sale

Arboretum Music Festival is unveiling the complete lineup for its fifth anniversary edition, running August 17 to August 21. Weekend passes are available online for $40, day passes will cost $25, and individual showcases vary in price Arboretum Music Festival is thrilled to announce internationally-renowned electronic artist TIM HECKER to the lineup. He has chosen the festival as one of just three Canadian shows this year; opening for him will be Arcade Fire drummer JEREMY GARA in the Ottawa premiere of his new electronic solo project. Also added are rising ghost-folk stars EVENING HYMNS and OPERATORS, the new band from Wolf Parade’s Dan Boeckner. In March, Arboretum Music Festival announced its first round of headliners including: SUBPOP heavy-weights METZ, breakout New York-based hip-hop star JUNGLEPUSSY, art-rap phenomenon MYKKI BLANCO, CanCon legends SLOAN performing their seminal 1996 album One Chord to Another, and blogosphere fuzz heroes DILLY DALLY. A slew of Canadian independent record labels will also descend on Ottawa to showcase their rosters with concerts and club shows around the city. Along with the exciting slate of musical acts, in partnership with the Ottawa International Writers Festival the festival will present, an opening keynote conversation with Andrea Warner, author of We Oughta Know: How Four Women Ruled the ‘90s and Changed Canadian Music, as well as a series of microtalks in The Commons, MediaStyle’s charging lounge and presentation hub at the festival. The festival is set to transform City Hall’s backyard into a Festival Village with Beau’s Beer Garden in partnership with Beyond the Pale, and a City Night Bazaar showcasing local vendors curated by n-product.
