The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) is one of the world’s leading animation events providing screenings, exhibits, workshops and entertainment since 1976. OIAF is an annual five-day event bringing art and industry together in a vibrant hub and attracting more than 28,000 artists, producers, students and animation fans from around the world.

2016 HIGHLIGHTS:
40TH ANNIVERSARY GRAND PRIZE SCREENINGS: For the 40th anniversary, the OIAF will present six programmes comprised of every film to have won the Grand Prize since the first Festival in 1976
NIGHTOWL: On September 24, 2016, the OIAF presents an all-ages interactive experience at the World Pavilion featuring live music, an arcade, animation, cosplay, science fiction, and more!
CANADIAN FEATURES: This year there are a record breaking number of Canadian features in competition, showcasing work from former Grand Prize winner Jean-François Laguionie (Louise en Hiver), OIAF Jury member Anne-Marie Fleming (Window Horses), and Montreal based filmmakers Jean-François Pouliot and François Brisson (La Guerre des Tuques).
INTERNATIONAL SHORT COMPETITION: OIAF received over 2300 entries and selected approximately 111 finalists from 23 different countries. 2016 showcases entries from a mix of Festival veterans and first-time competitors, Oscar nominees, OIAF legends, and an unprecedented amount of strong student work from all over the world!
PITCH THIS!: Got an idea for an animated series for kids? TAC (The Animation Conference) at OIAF is offering TEN creators the opportunity to work with mentors within the industry to hone their proposal - the top pitch will receive a development deal from Corus Entertainment and animation software from Toon Boom!(Deadline to apply: AUGUST 15, 2016)
