The 9th annual OTTAWA GRASSROOTS FESTIVAL takes place over the weekend of Friday, April 23 through Sunday, April 25, as a virtual event this year, providing an opportunity to extend the festival’s reach to the public both nationally and globally. There is an amazing line-up of performances and workshops for all ages -- a family friendly event with music in both official languages and rich in Indigenous voices. OGF prides itself in showcasing artists of all abilities, all ages, all genders and welcomes music of diverse ethnicities. OGF is a volunteer run festival which believes strongly in bringing communities together, by providing participative workshops and opportunities for involvement at all levels of this organization.

There will be the OGF Virtual Silent Auction with some interesting items to bid on. Our list continues to grow but some of the items donated so far include golf memberships, 2 hrs of gardening help, gift certificates to restaurants, veggie plants, home decor items and many other surprises.
The festival organizers realize it has been a difficult year for local businesses and we are helping all those which have supported our festival in the past and those who cannot this year, by setting up a 'LOCAL HEROES' page on the website. Some will be offering festival fare for you to enjoy while you take in the entertainment. These businesses are rockstars too, in their own way, doing everything possible to keep their businesses going throughout this pandemic so we can continue to benefit from their goods and important services.
PLEASE enjoy the FREE Daytime performances and workshops. They are sure to brighten your day and provide musical discoveries of the abundance of local talent in the Ottawa and surrounding areas.
Tickets are $10/person or $15/family for each Friday and Saturday evening concert. A weekend Festival Pass is $15/person or $20/family. OGF will take place securely on zoom. which is viewable on any device that has a web browser (phone, laptop, computer, tablet, Smart TV, etc.) One ticket per email address, ticket purchasers will be sent a confirmation of purchase and the link to WATCH the week prior to the festival. Tickets and passes are available for purchase NOW here.
Ottawa Grassroots Festival suffered a tremendous loss just a month ago, when our beloved Founder and Festival Producer, Bob Nesbitt, passed away. He worked against all odds in almost every aspect of the planning of the 2021 festival to ensure it would be the best it could be. You can read more about this exceptional community builder on the homepage of the festival website.
Bob's vision for the virtual edition of OGF was to deliver as close to an in-person festival experience as possible. The festival program will be available soon to help you plan for the weekend.
If there are other ways you might want to help by either joining our volunteer team, offering sponsorship ideas or contributing to our silent auction, please let us know.
