Ottawa Children’s Festival de la Jeunesse Announces Madame Diana Fox Carney as Honourary Patron

The Ottawa Children’s Festival de la Jeunesse is delighted and deeply honoured to announce that Madame Diana Fox Carney has accepted the role of Honourary Patron of the Festival.

A longtime supporter of the arts and of Ottawa’s cultural community, Mme Fox Carney has maintained a longstanding relationship with the Festival over many years, attending performances with her own children and championing the importance of arts experiences for young people and families.

Her acceptance of the patronage comes at a meaningful moment for the Festival as it enters an important new chapter in its 40-year history — continuing its commitment to artistic excellence, accessibility, imagination, and community engagement for children and youth.

“We are profoundly honoured that Mme Fox Carney has agreed to lend her name, her encouragement, and her support to the Festival,” said Catherine O'Grady, Artistic Producer of the Ottawa Children’s Festival de la Jeunesse.

“Like so many Ottawa parents, Diana first experienced the Festival through the eyes of her own children. She understands deeply the value of children encountering live performance, storytelling, music, theatre, and wonder at an early age. Her generosity of spirit, commitment to community, and belief in the arts make her an extraordinary patron for the Festival as we look toward the future.”

Mme Fox Carney’s support reflects a lifelong engagement with civic and cultural life in Ottawa and a belief in the importance of ensuring that children and families have meaningful access to creativity, imagination, and shared artistic experiences.

For four decades, the Ottawa Children’s Festival de la Jeunesse has welcomed thousands of children, educators, and families to experience world-class theatre, music, dance, puppetry, and interdisciplinary performance from across Canada and around the world. The Festival remains one of Canada’s leading professional performing arts festivals for young audiences.

The Festival’s upcoming programming will continue this tradition while embracing a renewed vision for the future — one rooted in artistic excellence, inclusion, accessibility, and the transformative power of the arts in the lives of children.
