One week to go! Here’s what you need to know

Hello puppet pals! Can you believe we’re only a week away from the return of the Puppets? It’s like the Return of the Jedi but instead of Sarlaccs and Ewoks we have marionettes and rod puppets. And instead of needing to get to the forest moon of Endor to stop the Empire from building a new death star you just need to come to Mill Street and… you know what? It’s nothing like the Return of the Jedi.  Sorry. Anyway. Puppets. Things you need to know. That sort of thing.

“What can I still buy tickets for?”

You can’t say we didn’t warn you! The immensely popular Saturday Night Puppet Cabaret is sold out! But don’t worry, there are still tickets and passes left for the rest of the weekend’s entertainment, including Friday night’s adult-only show featuring a veteran of the Jim Henson Company and Broadway’s Avenue Q! Just don’t wait til the last minute because we can’t guarantee there’ll be anything left!

- Friday, August 9 - A Canadian in New YorkA Canadian in New York with Ben Durocher (18+) - Buy tickets here

- Saturday, August 10 - Day passes to see any daytime show (All ages) - Buy wristbands here

- Sunday, August 11 - Day passes to see any daytime show (All ages) - Buy wristbands here

If you leave things to the very last minute you might be able to get a $15 (cash only) single-show ticket for any of the daytime shows at the door but only if space permits and, frankly, we wouldn’t bet on space permitting. Space can be kind of a jerk. You might also be able to get access to the Garden for Little Souls and kids’ craft tent for $5 if you don’t have a day pass but, again, this will only be if space permits.

“What’s happening when? And where?”

Ok, the incredibly well-written appeal above got you to buy a wristband. Now what? It’s time to plan your festival visit!

- Check out the shows to find your favourites

- Consult the schedule to plan your day

- Then memorize the map so you know where to go

Hang on, we’re just being told you can also save the map to your phone. Guess those $2,500 mail order memorization lessons were a waste, eh?

“Now I’m excited! What can I do with all of this excess energy while I wait for the curtain to go up?”

For starters, head on over to our website to watch some hilarious and zany videos featuring our wonderful theatre sponsors and a few of your favourite local puppets, then heck - why not follow them on Facebook!

Then if you’ve got time, why not visit a few of our other sponsors too and thank them for supporting the festival? “We couldn’t do it without them” sounds like a cliche but it’s absolutely 100% true. Or you could sign up to be a volunteer and be part of the fun that way - we need people with all levels of experience and ability! Okay. See you soon, pals!
