Oktoberfest Ottawa Inc., the capital’s premier Oktoberfest celebration and music festival, is excited to announce the 2013 Oktoberfest Ottawa festival will be held on September 27 – 29, 2013 at Clarke Fields in Barrhaven. Friday night’s headlining musical act will be Ottawa’s own Amanda Rheaume. The top secret feature artist for Saturday night will be announced in late August. Early Bird Ticket Sales are now on sale. Festival attendees can get 2 passes for Friday and 2 passes for Saturday for just $30. (That’s a $50 savings!) Many local performers will be there to entertain the crowds including Oktoberfest Ottawa favourite Schteev und die Lederhosers, Good2Go, The Bushpilots and Sweet Home Chicago. In addition to all the ‘fantastic musik’, the Bavarian Beauties, sausage and pretzel eating contests and of course, beer will make this years festival another one for the books. A Uniquely Canadian Version of a Great German Tradition The festival captures the spirit of Oktoberfest with a local Ottawa area twist. By combining great local beer brewed specifically for the festival, local food vendors offering delicious Germanic and Canadian fare and local musical entertainment, it’s a uniquely Canadian version of a great German tradition. This year, we’re pleased to have Big Rig Brewery, Hogsback Brewing Company and Broadhead Brewery providing the ‘froth’. Special surprises will be popping up all over the place. Last year one of Canada’s long running & popular TV series ‘This Hour Has 22 Minutes’ joined in on the celebrations to tape segments for a future episode. From Humble Beginnings to Eastern Ontario’s Premier Heritage Bavarian Festival Oktoberfest Ottawa came from humble beginnings. What started as a one-night dinner fundraiser 5 years ago, has now turned in to a must-not-miss event for the people of Ottawa and surrounding areas. President Dwight Brown along with Andrew Inderwick, John Beard, Jason Robinson and Darren Stevens have nurtured Oktoberfest Ottawa Inc. into a not-for-profit, volunteer driven organization that has grown into Eastern Ontario’s premier heritage Bavarian festival.
