Tomorrow, January 27 at 3PM ET, Ottawa Festival Network will be hosting a virtual panel discussion on the topic of Festival Accessibility. Titled, "Overcoming Barriers", this call seeks to share lived experiences with the ongoing and evolving task of making festivals and events more inclusive and accessible spaces for all to enjoy.
About the Topic
Join fellow festival organizers, producers, and cultural leaders for an interactive online panel exploring how to identify, remove, and prevent barriers in festival environments. At its core, accessibility is about dignity, choice, and equal opportunity—ensuring every person can engage fully in the cultural life they wish to participate in.
Together, we’ll discuss what proactive barrier removal looks like in real festival settings, from small community gatherings to large-scale events, and share some resources to help you execute your accessibility goals.
Our panelists bring expertise from tourism, municipal leadership, and lived experience, offering practical insights and big-picture thinking to help organizers foster a culture of genuine inclusion. You’ll leave with new perspectives, shared language, and actionable ideas that can be applied to your own events.
