Octoberfest on Sparks this Friday, Saturday and Sunday

You don’t need to drive to suburbs to have fun at an Octoberfest this year! Join us for Octoberfest on Sparks this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 27-29) as tons of Bavarian fun arrives on Sparks Street! Nine restaurants along Sparks Street will be serving Bavarian dishes along with a great selection of local and international beers. There will be three stages along Sparks Street featuring some of Ottawa’s best local bands and games and prizing for everyone! “Sparks will be awash this weekend with food, music, games and fun!” say Les Gagne, Executive Director of Sparks Street. “Lederhosen is optional, but strongly encouraged!” It’s not an Octoberfest without games! Festival Goers will have the opportunity to go apple bobbing, compete in Stein holding competitions and Barrel Races down Sparks Street! To get in on the games, you will need an “Octoberfest on Sparks” button. The button are five dollars each with partial proceeds going towards the Ottawa Food Bank. They will be available for purchase from merchants of Sparks Street and at the Sparks Street BIA office.   Media inquiries only.
