Long list of Artists confirmed for a weekend of hand-clapping, foot-stomping fun
The 18th Annual Almonte Celtfest takes place on July 4, 5 and 6. Celtfest is a weekend of Ottawa Valley and Celtic entertainment, performed in the natural amphitheatre of Gemmill Park, which showcases the traditions and contemporary styling of Celtic music, song and dance.
This year’s Festival is bigger than ever. The weekend kicks off Friday night with fantastic music in the pubs; on Saturday the Main Stage will host music and dancers from noon until 10 pm and again Sunday from noon until 6 pm. Additionally, the vendor alley has grown and will feature Celtic artists displaying and selling their one-of- a kind creation, along with varied food vendors. We are also proud to announce that we have "gone green" with a commitment to a cleaner environment, and refillable water stations will be available on-site.
This year’s confirmed line-up includes the Ottawa Celtic Choir, Alexander George & Company, Irons in the Fire, Celtic Cross Dancers, Matt Pepin Trio, Kyle Felhaver, Dai Bassett, Louis Schryer, Salty Dog, the Monday Night Fiddlers, Elly Squared, The Ryans, the Sue Fay Healy Irish Dancers, Le Vent du Nord and is headlined by The American Rogues.
Almonte Celtfest began in 1996 as a Sunday afternoon event that has grown into one of the top Celtic weekend events in the Country. Its mission is to celebrate and promote the Celtic heritage of the Ottawa Valley, share historical traditions and showcase local performers. Celtfest takes place in the natural amphitheater of Gemmill Park over the July 4, 5 and 6th, 2014 weekend and remains an admission by donation event.
