MEGAPHONO's 2019 conference programming is now available. This year, panel topics will include a heavy focus on export development, including panels on Eastern Europe, the UK, and the USA. Other topics include music discovery, online playlists, community media, mental health, and more. Our keynote event features audio engineer and Berklee College of Music Professor Dr. Susan Rogers in conversation with Kreative Kontrol's Vish Khanna.
Other weekend features include the 3rd Annual Music Maker Fair Trade Show, a screening of the Ottawa synth documentary Modulo, the Touring Musician Cooking Show, and the Women+ in Music Mentorship Program (see below for more info).
As usual, Speed Meetings will also be a featured MEGAPHONO networking activity, where invited industry delegates meet performing artists and MEGA Pass-holders to talk shop.
The main conference hub is located at SAW Video, inside Arts Court (2 Daly Avenue). Panels and other conference events will take place in Arts Court, the National Arts Centre, Dominion Chalmers Centre, Wabano Meetings and Events Centre, and Coworkly.

Inaugural Women+ in Music Mentorship (WiMM) Program to take place at MEGAPHONO
On February 9th, MEGAPHONO and Girls+ Rock Ottawa co-presents Women+ in Music Mentorship (WiMM) program, sponsored by TD Bank Group. This brand new program seeks to foster empowerment and support development for women+ in music.
The WiMM program will be bringing together women+ from different career and experience levels to engage in a unique mentoring experience: six MEGAPHONO delegates will be matched up with six MEGAPHONO performing artists and six program alumni of Rock Camp for Girls+ and Rock Camp for Women+.
The program welcomes all women- or non-binary identified folks, including but not limited to trans women, Two-Spirit, and gender non-conforming folk. Organizers are committed to ensuring equitable access, with emphasis on Indigenous artists, artists of colour, and LGBTQ2 artists.
