Les Grands Feux du Casino Lac-Leamy unveil this year’s themes and a spectacular musical opening night

Gatineau, July 4, 2025 – The countdown is on for the 28th edition of Les Grands Feux du Casino Lac-Leamy, set to ignite the skies from July 30 to August 16, 2025, every Wednesday and Saturday, at the iconic site of the Canadian Museum of History. True to its reputation, the event returns with a dazzling lineup that fuses tradition with innovation. And this year, festivalgoers are in for a brand-new surprise on opening night!

A bold first: an original musical creation that celebrates local talent

On Wednesday, July 30, the opening night will make history with ELECTRO, a groundbreaking show fueled by the electrifying beats of DJs Carl Müren and Chris Alary. This fusion of symphonic and electronic music will accompany the pyrotechnic masterpieces of Quebec-based Royal Pyrotechnie in a multi-sensory experience never before seen at Les Grands Feux.

A pyromusical journey around the world

Once again this year, world-renowned pyrotechnic firms will take the stage, each offering a never-before-seen creation inspired by the culture and imagination of their home country. Audiences will be swept away by mesmerizing soundscapes, breathtaking light choreographies, and richly colourful themes.

Wednesday, July 30 – Grand Opening – ELECTRO, presented by Royal Pyrotechnie in collaboration with DJs Carl Müren and Chris Alary. Les Grands Feux are kicking off in style with an explosive performance where fire, sound, and light collide in pure sensory overload. For the very first time, DJs will perform live during the fireworks with an original electro creation tailored to match every burst in the sky.

Saturday, August 2 – Japan – A Dream Journey to Japan, presented by Komei Co. This show will immerse you in a visual and musical world inspired by the rich culture of Japan, elegantly blending tradition and modernity. From ancient temples to cherry blossoms, vibrant anime and colourful video games, it’s a luminous ode to a captivating culture.

Wednesday, August 6 – Australia – Sparks Across the Sound, presented by Foti International Fireworks. This musical and luminous journey through Australia and Canada pays tribute to the cultural and musical ties between the two nations. From nostalgic classics to current hits, each pyrotechnic scene bridges generations through music, water, and stars.

Saturday, August 9 – Mexico – Bueno Onda, presented by Sirius Pyrotechnics. A beloved destination, Mexico dazzles with its contrasts: breathtaking landscapes, bustling metropolises, and cozy seaside cafés. This show will whisk you away to a festive, luminous Mexico, where every spark in the sky reflects the warmth and soul of this vibrant paradise.

Wednesday, August 13 – Canada – Reignite: A Symphony in the Sky, presented by Fireworks Spectaculars Canada. This grand spectacle features an original soundtrack created by two Gatineau-based artists, Mathieu Donais and Julien Boivin Provost. A heartfelt tribute to our country, this performance lights up the sky with powerful, delicate, and emotional fireworks.

Saturday, August 16 – Grand Finale – TV Series, presented by Royal Pyrotechnie. This pyrotechnic tribute takes you on a luminous journey through unforgettable moments from the small screen. From iconic scenes to timeless classics, each act is a nod to the beloved shows that shaped our collective imagination.
