Folk Festival 20th anniversary line-up takes it to another level!

Ottawa Folk Festival organizers today announced the initial line-up for their 20th anniversary. Confirmed acts to date include: Lorde; The National; Foster the People; Neutral Milk Hotel; The Gaslight Anthem; Serena Ryder; J. Cole; Blue Rodeo; Joss Stone; The War on Drugs; The Milk Carton Kids; Ed Kowalczyk (formerly of Live); Coeur de Pirate; Blues Traveler; The Wiggles; M. Ward; Seasick Steve; Asleep at the Wheel; Fred Penner; Simon Townshend; Adam Cohen; The Strumbellas; Wake Owl; Sun Kil Moon; The Lone Bellow; The Wooden Sky; Young & Sick; Black Prairie; The Bros. Landreth; Bobby Bazini; Craig Cardiff; Dailey & Vincent; Hurray for the Riff Raff; Elephant Revival; High Waters; Jill Zmud; Lora Bidner; Made Noon; Matt “Guitar” Murphy; Mustafa The Poet; NQ Arbuckle; Pony Girl; Poor Old Shine; Saturnfly; Spencer Scharf; The Cardboard Crowns; The Carper Family; The Mellotones; The Noisy Locomotive; The Strain; The Wicked Mercy; Almoraima; COIG; Chrissy Crowley; and Sprag Session. “I believe Ottawa music fans will be exceptionally pleased with what we’ve come up with this year,” says the festival’s executive/programming director Mark Monahan. “It’s a fan-based lineup that reflects what fans are asking for. A lot of these acts are defining today’s music.” Monahan added that new for 2014 there will be a massive new beer tent featuring a wide variety of craft beers, as well as musical programming; a ‘Food Truck Rally’ offering a large selection of food; expanded children’s programming; and some unique, theme-based workshop sessions. Ottawa Folk Festival will include five days of programming in 2014, from September 10 to 14. The festival site at Hog’s Back Park offers a wide variety of food, beverages, and merchandise concessions. There will be a one-day early bird ticket promotion available to the general public on-line (while supplies last), beginning Thursday, May 15 at 10 a.m. and running until midnight at: ottawafolk.com, with regular prices coming into effect at 10 a.m. Friday, May 16.
