Elevate Series of Events

Elevate, a series of events devoted to raise funds for the Sexual Assault Support Centre, will feature a colorful gala on October 17 at The Mercury Lounge, one of Ottawa’s best night clubs and a Yoga Event on November 24 at the Orange Art Gallery. The early bird cost of admission for the gala is $30 and $25 for the yoga event or $50 for the full pass. Prices will go up after October 4. All proceeds will go toward The Sexual Assault Support Centre, which is a non-profit charity and community based organization which provides survivor-directed support services by women, to women, who have experienced sexual violence. The Centre also engages in action to pressure for change in the structures and systems that contribute to the practice, maintenance, and tolerance of violence, oppression, discrimination and exploitation. The gala will feature a tarot card reader, henna tattooist, a prominent local DJ, DJ Acro, raffle prizes and much more. At the yoga soirée, guests will be offered bindis and swag bags. This event will feature acro yoga demonstrations, as well as coconut water and a healthy snack bar. Jesse Beamish, a local yoga teacher, will lead the class, while music helps everyone flow and yogi groove and the event will end on a peaceful tone with a meditation session led by Ashley Parsons. The purpose of these events is to raise the love vibration for a great cause, in a fun environment. According to Sheri Chiprout, the founder of SheriMuse and Elevate, these festivities are “meant to be fun and engaging while still focusing on the importance of the cause”. Tickets go on sale online September 16th and will be in stores by September 20.
