March 31, 2017 — Ottawa Fringe presents the sixth presentation in its commemorative #Fringe20 Encore Series that reprises eight hit shows from past Ottawa Fringes in celebration of the festival’s 20th anniversary year. April 6 -8 at the Arts Court Studio, catch two award-winning shows, An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein and The Root of All Squares. Co-directed by Ottawa’s Graham Price and Third Wall Theatre Artistic Director James Richardson, An Adult Evening... features 10 imaginative short plays that range widely in content and location, but have a style unmistakably that of children’s author and columnist for Playboy, Shel Silverstein. Third Wall’s award-winning production made its mark on the 2003 Fringe and returns featuring an all new cast including Attila Clemann, Sarah Finn, Andrew Moore, Norah Paton and several special guest appearances you won’t want to miss! See what happens with this show after 14 years of maturation. Black Sheep Theatre has performed at EVERY Fringe, beginning at the first in 1997. Last seen here in Ottawa at the 2004 Fringe Festival, and directed by Ottawa’s Dave Dawson, The Root… has been described as “Abbott and Costello meet Logic 101 and Economics 202.” It is a curious “zippy philosophical comedy” on the nature of property rights and the value of persons, played out on a bare stage in the confines of a taped-off square.
