DJ Questlove Holds Court at Ottawa Jazz Festival’s OLG Series

Ottawa (May 8, 2025) – What better way to celebrate the Ottawa Jazz Festival’s 45th anniversary (June 20–29) than with the incomparable Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson – Academy Award-winning filmmaker, renowned drummer, DJ, producer, culinary entrepreneur, New York Times best-selling author, and the unmistakable heartbeat of Philadelphia’s legendary hip-hop group.
On Sunday, June 22 at 10:45 PM, DJ Questlove will hit the OLG Stage, right after performing with The Roots on the Main Stage at 8:30 PM.
Questlove is a five-time GRAMMY Award winner and has worked with artists including D’Angelo, Eminem, and Jay-Z. He’s also an Academy Award and Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner for his acclaimed documentary Summer of Soul and serves as the Musical Director for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where The Roots serve as the house band,
Beyond his work as a musician and director, Questlove is one of the most in-demand DJs in pop culture, with past sets at the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, the White House, Cartier, and top venues worldwide. During the pandemic, he streamed nearly 300 virtual DJ sets, later launching his own Twitch show GO DJ, spotlighting top international talent.
Most recently, he co-directed Ladies & Gentlemen... 50 Years of SNL Music (2025), a documentary celebrating the iconic musical performances from Saturday Night Live and the acclaimed Hulu documentary Sly Lives!
