Ottawa, Ontario - May, 23 2017 - We at Dessertfest have taken all feedback from attendees and vendors and have made all the necessary change to make sure the 2nd annual Dessertfest is bigger and better. We have also partnered with a non-profit to which all proceeds will going to called Miyagi that is a school for entrepreneurs. We also were selected to be one of the recipients of the Celebrate Ontario Grants meaning our festival was chosen as one of the many that will help increase tourism within Ontario. How are we going to be bigger? We will have double the amount of vendors from our inaugural 2016 event. Last year we had 30 vendors and this year we will have 60 vendors, mostly if not all local vendors from bakeries to restaurants to even home based bakers. We are also extending the event to include a 3rd day which is Friday June 9th which happens to land on a PD day (Dessertfest is free for kids 12 and under). Our $10,000 prize for the most unique dessert will have all vendors creating desserts like you have never seen before! These desserts must be original and unavailable anywhere else but at Dessertfest and the top 3 vendors will be judged by a panel of local celebrity judges (including Mayor Jim Watson and CTV's Melissa Lamb) at 3pm June 11th. Dessertfest will be held June 9th to 11th, 11am to 7pm each day at the Aberdeen Pavillion at Lansdowne Park. Tickets will be limited to 10,000 tickets/day. We are very excited to celebrate North America's Largest dessert festival in a much bigger fashion than ever before.
