Broncs and ’Tonks Launches “Hometown Heroes” Campaign to Recognize Outstanding People Across Ottawa and the Surrounding Area

Broncs and ’Tonks is inviting residents across Ottawa and the surrounding area to nominate someone who deserves to be recognized as a true hometown hero.

Inspired by Dean Brody and The Reklaws’ Hometown Heroes tour, the campaign will celebrate the everyday people who make a meaningful difference in their communities through kindness, courage, leadership, service or generosity.

Nominees may include first responders, teachers, healthcare workers, volunteers, coaches, parents, caregivers, neighbours, community leaders and role models. The campaign is open to everyone, and nominees do not need to hold a formal title or public position.

“Every community has people who quietly step up, help others and make life better for the people around them,” said Lucie Quigley of Broncs and ’Tonks. “We want to give people across Ottawa and the surrounding communities an opportunity to tell us about someone whose efforts deserve to be seen and celebrated.”

Members of the public can submit a nomination by sharing the nominee’s name, community and the story of why they consider that person a hometown hero.

Selected nominees will receive tickets to Broncs and ’Tonks and may be invited on stage for special recognition during the event on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Ottawa Stadium.

Broncs and ’Tonks will bring together a full afternoon and evening of entertainment, beginning with a high-energy tailgate, followed by a professional rodeo and a stadium concert featuring Canadian country artists Dean Brody and The Reklaws.

“We know there are incredible stories throughout this region,” Quigley added. “This campaign is about recognizing the people who may not ask for attention, but whose actions have had a lasting impact on others.”

Nominations are open until August 12th, 2026.
