OTTAWA
– Renowned tenor and broadcaster Ben Heppner will ring in the holiday season with an evening of favourite carols in fresh new arrangements and Christmas stories Thursday, Dec. 15 and Friday, Dec. 16 at Dominion-Chalmers United Church. Happy Holidays with Heppner will feature the Ottawa Choral Society, led by their new musical director Jean-Sébastien Vallée in his début performance. Joining the choir will be soprano Mireille Asselin, who made headlines with her opening night performance as Adele in the Metropolitan Opera’s
Die Fledermaus
, and a brass and percussion ensemble including Montreal trumpeter Taz Eddy, who was recently named one of “30 hot musicians under 30” by CBC. The programme welcomes audience participation and will range from classics – like O Come all ye faithful and What Child is this? – to lesser known gems. With few seats remaining both nights, it promises to be a festive celebration.
