Seventh Chamberfest/NACO co-presentation on Oct. 18 to feature Hewitt’s acclaimed interpretation of Book II of the Well-Tempered Clavier Angela Hewitt returns next week to the Chamberfest Concert Series to kick off the second half of her Bach Odyssey. In one of her most celebrated interpretations, Hewitt will perform the entire second book of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier in a marathon three-hour concert. Her recital of part 8 will take place in January, also at Dominion-Chalmers, and include the Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue in D minor – considered to be among Bach’s greatest masterpieces. In her only Canadian performances of a 12-part series, whose other presenters include London’s Wigmore Hall and New York City’s Kaufmann Concert Hall, Hewitt is in the process of performing every piece the ubiquitous German composer produced for the keys – from the most familiar to the sometimes forgotten. Angela Hewitt: Bach Odyssey VII is part of the 2018-19 Chamberfest Concert Series, and presented in partnership with the National Arts Centre Orchestra.
