a Company of Fools is holding General Auditions in Ottawa for our 2020 season. Professional Ottawa based actors are invited to submit for our generals. Established artists who have been working regularly in Ottawa and/or whose work is well known to the company are invited to send a letter of interest and updated CV. Candidates will be considered for our Torchlight Shakespeare in the Park tour and development workshops. Candidates should have a strong handle on Shakespearean text, be skilled in physical theatre, and be able to work outdoors during the summer in a variety of weather conditions. Skills in puppetry, movement, and the ability to play hand-held instruments will be considered an asset. Auditions will be held in Ottawa on December 9th. Please send a letter of interest, headshot, and CV in one PDF addressed to Nicholas Leno at auditions@fools.ca by 5pm on November 29th, 2019. Please title your document using your first initial and last name, following this example: ‘E. Thompson – General Audition.PDF” Candidates are required to prepare: Two contrasting monologues, one from Shakespeare and the other of your choice. 16 bars of an acappella song (please no longer than 30 seconds).
