Writer: Hayley CombaluzierHayley Combaluzier

The folks who have hosted three sold out #ILLBOK (I'll be okay) concerts are excited to announce an all-star line-up for the fourth edition with a larger central venue: When: Friday, June 7, 2019 Time: Doors at 6 pm; show starts at 8 Where: The Horticulture Building at Landsdowne Park Who:

  • JW Jones – Ottawa blues artist, 3x Billboard Top 10, JUNO Nominee

  • HOROJO Trio featuring Ottawa’s Jeff Rogers. (2019 OttawaBluesFest)

The annual event raises awareness around issues associated with Youth Mental Health and raises funds for DIFD (Do it for Daron) which supports education, awareness, and research initiatives at the Royal Ottawa Hospital which encourages young people to talk openly about mental illness and to ask for help when needed. The purple DIFD heart, a creation inspired by Daron’s favourite colour, has become the youth-driven symbol of this movement. The event titled, 'Purple and Blues' got its name as a result of purple being the color representing DIFD and Blues as the style of music JW Jones is known for. The combination of Purple and Blues alludes to the mental bruising the youth of Canada are currently facing. More info: www.illbok.ca
