Proud of its mission in positioning Gatineau as “the” destination for "specialty craft beers" in Quebec and to celebrate the skills of local and non-local brew masters, the Winter Beerfest’s organizing committee is happy to announce for the first time since its inauguration in 2012, that a selection of Ontario beers will be offered at the 2015 winter edition presented by Lachapelle Fiat.
It is with great enthusiasm that the Beerfest opens its doors to Beau's All Natural Brewing Company from Vankleek Hill, east of Ottawa. On January 30 and 31, 2015, at the Canadian Museum of History, beer aficionados from around the National Capital Region are invited to the fourth edition of the Winter Beerfest, which promises to offer the largest selection and variety of craft beer products ever!
Beau’s presence will not go unnoticed, as they will be taking advantage of their presence at the event to distribute large quantities of their nectar, and this, just before the official launch of their products throughout Quebec next February. In hopes that their presence at the event will attract other excellent microbreweries from the Ontario side for future editions.
"It's taken us eight years to get our beer 20 kilometers east of Vankleek Hill. We couldn't be more excited to finally be able to sell in La Belle Province, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than at Festibière," said Steve Beauchesne, co-founder of Beau's All Natural Brewing Company.
"More and more of our neighbours from Ontario are attending the Beerfest. It is therefore natural for us to offer a selection of their beers”, said Michael O'Farrell, General Manager of the Gatineau Beerfest. "We can’t ignore the great variety and quality of the products found right on the other side of the river!"
For the visitor’s enjoyment, the 2015 edition will mark the return of a musical program. The stage of the Grand Hall, the central point of the festival, will showcase home-grown talent, while outside, singer/songwriters and a huge bonfire, will warm the hearts of the crowd in a euphoric décor overlooking Parliament.
New additions! Enthusiasts will benefit this year by the addition of a self-service area. The aim is to continue innovating and to enhance the consumer experience by bringing the aficionado in more immediate contact with the products. Enthusiasts of intense flavors will now be able to treat themselves to beers infused with hops, spices, fruit, or other seasonings with a device that is gaining in popularity called the Randall.
The Winter Beerfest organization would like to thank and acknowledge the support of the Canadian Museum of History, without whom the event would not have the same flavor. Consumers of craft beers will be invited to warm themselves in the heart of the Grand Hall and enjoy the outdoor installations inspired by the most beautiful winter scenes.
“The Canadian Museum of History is thrilled to be partnering for a second year with the Winter Beerfest. As a national museum, the Canadian Museum of History is committed to providing a gathering place and to being an active member of the community. The Winter Beerfest is an event that draws participants from throughout the region and beyond. Through its association with the festival, the Museum offers a spectacular environment for the participants, exhibitors and organizers to enjoy.”
Distinction by Sodexo, official caterer at the Canadian Museum of History and the War Museum, is partnering with the Winter Beerfest for the second consecutive year. Martin de Board, Executive Chef of Distinction by Sodexo and his team will serve gourmet appetizers that pair well with the beers served throughout the evening.
Tickets are presently available at a reduced rate of $10 (plus tax), as well as are gift certificates of $25, $50 and $100, just in time for the holiday season. All can be purchased on the Beerfest’s new website (festibiere.ca) or at the Canadian Museum of History’s box office. “For the third consecutive year, the STO is associated with the Winter Beerfest’s success story by offering free access to the entire network, as well as for the Paratransit service for all bracelet holders. Public transportation is clearly an effective way to easily get to the Canadian Museum of History and ensure a safe return home” said Gilles Carpentier, President of the STO.
