Let Navan Fair be your summer tradition! Launched in 1946, this rural celebration is a showcase of agricultural excellence and is regarded as one of the premier events in the Ottawa Valley. Although situated just a few miles from downtown Ottawa, the Fair has managed to retain its rural identity. Live entertainment “Under the Domes” all weekend long:Thursday August 6 9 pm - midnight: Sterling Friday August 7 10 am: School of Rock 9 pm - midnight - Trooper, opening act: Bacon Tree (19+, $10 Domes cover ) Saturday August 8 9 pm - midnight - Brett Kissel, opening act Brea Lawrenson (19+, $10 Domes cover ) Sunday August 9 Starting at 1 pm: Carroll Baker, opening acts Blackwell, Neville Wells, Gord Barnes and Flashback Special Events for 2015:20th Anniversary Celebration of the Guinness World Record 50 Horse Hitch 20 years ago Willard McWilliams drove a 50 Horse Hitch 3.5 kilometers through the village of Navan and into the Guinness Book of World Records. In celebration of this anniversary, the original wagon will be showcased during the Navan Fair Parade on Saturday, August 8th, 2015. There will also be a get together Saturday at 1:00pm to share stories and have light refreshments. This reception will be after the parade in the 50 Horse Hitch tent, which will have a mare and a foal, a slide show and DVD of the event. Come join the fun! Lumberjack Shows The Lumberjack Company specializes in bringing the lumberjack tradition to life for the enjoyment of a new generation of Canadians. 3 Shows – Saturday Aug 8th ONLY - 2PM, 4 PM & 6M Birds of Prey Presented by the Canadian Raptor Conservancy. Each demonstration includes 5 different raptors from around the world, including at least 3 free-flying birds. 3 Shows daily Friday – Sunday – 11 AM, 1 PM & 3PM 78th Fraser Highlanders Participating in the parade Saturday Aug 8th.
