POSITION: CB3 - Special Events and Festival Operations Assistant - Chamberfest


CONTRACT TERM: 26 Weeks  ANTICIPATED START DATE: May 4, 2026   END DATE: October 30, 2026


WORK SCHEDULE: 4 business days / 32 hours per week WORK LOCATION: Downtown


JOB SUMMARY: This position is funded through Ontario’s Job Creation Partnerships (see eligibility details below). Reporting to the Associate Director of Philanthropy and working with the Executive Director, and Volunteer Coordinator to assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of special events fundraising initiatives.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the planning of special events and meetings, respond to public inquiries about events. Manage invitation lists and RSVPs

  • Assist in the development, management, and execution of existing and new special events

  • Input information to the donor database and create reports using said information and database

  • Coordinate the activation of Festival online silent auction

  • Support Festival Hospitality needs

  • Support Festival Concessions – planning, scheduling, and ordering

  • Administrative functions that support donor outreach and fundraising efforts

  • Support Artist Merchandise sales

  • Work with the Artistic Team and Artifax for artist liaison, scheduling, and production planning in relation to organizational needs;

  • Other duties as assigned and required.


SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be self-motivated; and have the ability to work well independently on several projects concurrently, and possess excellent communication, organizational and creative thinking skills;

  • Must be a team player, and can work with a diverse group of individuals

  • Experienced in planning and implementing events as well as general office administration;

  • Demonstrated high energy level and flexibility, pleasant persona coupled with sound judgment;

  • Flexible, discreet and able to maintain confidential information, knowledge of correct protocol for specific situations;

  • Software proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, is required;


Additional Qualifications Required:

Candidate eligibility for JCP is determined according to the following criteria:

1. An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week.

2. A permanent resident living in Ontario who is legally authorized to work in Canada.

3. Meet at least 1 of the following criteria:

a. Has an established Employment Insurance (EI) benefit period.

b. Previously established an EI benefit period that has ended within the previous 60 months.

c. Paid employee EI premiums (e.g. Box 18 on the T4) in at least 3 of the last 10 years while earnings have been at least $2000 in each of those years.

NOTE: Persons currently enrolled in full-time academic studies are not eligible for consideration. Those who qualify to establish an Employment Insurance (EI) claim must do so prior to being considered for JCP participation.


Remuneration:

$704 per week paid biweekly by the Province of Ontario (average hourly rate: $22 based on 4 days/32 hours).
