The Ottawa Lebanese Festival returns for its 23rd year of fabulous food, Middle Eastern musical entertainment, dance, and plenty of family fun. This year’s edition of the festival runs from Wednesday, July 17th to Sunday, July 21st on the grounds of St. Elias Cathedral and Banquet Centre. The is open every day with plenty of rides and games for children, as well as the young at heart. At the Marketplace – sponsored by the SKAFF Home Marketing Group - you can magically travel to the Middle East by visiting the many tents and kiosks; taste the ever popular “saj” bread, delicious sweets and enjoy a beautiful display of genuine Lebanese crafts, history and artwork. Always a festival favourite - indulge your appetite with traditional Lebanese cuisine in the Tannis Food Tent. Many delicious authentic Middle Eastern dishes will be available, including Hummus , Chicken Shawarma, Falafel, Kafta, Tabouleh and our legendary combination and vegetarian platters. You can also relax and unwind in the - a traditional Lebanese Argily (Shisha) tent with live nightly entertainment. The presents Middle Eastern artists as they perform time-honoured Lebanese music, dances and entertainment that will captivate your senses. Festival patrons are not only encouraged to enjoy the music, but join in the dancing. The opening ceremony officially kicks-off the festival on Wednesday at 7:30p.m. International recording artist Karl Wolf will be performing that evening at 10p.m. In addition, over 24 artists will perform during the Ottawa Lebanese Festival, please visit our website or Facebook page for a full schedule. The Lebanese Festival is open from 4p.m. to 11p.m. Wednesday to Friday and 11a.m. to 11p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission on Wednesday night is $5. The remainder of the week is only $2 with free entry until 4p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Free parking is available near-by at Canada Post with complimentary shuttle service available. Over the years, the Ottawa Lebanese Festival and community has generated thousands of dollars to numerous local charities and organizations. This year, the festival is pleased to partner with The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. The Ottawa Lebanese Festival is a non-profit, community based, cultural event that began in 1990. Each year this event attracts thousands of Ottawa residents.
