Ottawa Storytellers - Upcoming Events

Writer: Hayley CombaluzierHayley Combaluzier

November (un)told: You can’t choose your family. (Or can you?) In the break between Thanksgiving and the winter holiday celebrations, our mind is on the people who mean most to us. Those who were around when we grew up, those we share our days with now. We are seeking stories about the undeniable similarities and shocking difference between blood relatives; the new communities we form away from home; friends that feel more like family… and anything else inspired by musings about your assigned or chosen family. Ottawa StoryTellers presents (un)told, a gathering for sharing personal stories. Please note that we’ll be back at the Heart & Crown this month, and that (un)told will take place on a Sunday evening. To sign up to tell your story, send your pitch to untold.ottawa@gmail.com. No story? No problem – just sit back and enjoy the sweet mix of spontaneity, humour, and occasional outrageousness that makes (un)told so special. Sunday, November 26th, 7:30pm Black Rose Room of the ByWard Market Heart & Crown  (67 Clarence St) Admission is FREE! For more information, visit: untoldottawa.com/Speaking Out The Adventurous: Stories of French Canada Capitaine Bonnefemme (aka Nicole Fournier) and Janet LeRoy present a mix of traditional and new tales in celebration of French Canadian culture, all suitably prepared for an Anglophone audience to enjoy.
