Ottawa StoryTellers Presents: Transformations Ottawa – Exploring LGBTQ2S+ Stories

Ottawa, ON – Ottawa StoryTellers is proud to present Transformations Ottawa: Exploring LGBTQ2S+ Stories, a powerful evening of storytelling led by acclaimed Canadian storyteller and writer Jeffrey Canton, taking place on Thursday, May 22 at 7:00 PM in the Blackbox Studio at Arts Court.
Jeffrey Canton is a master of personal narrative, known for his evocative, intimate storytelling that explores identity, memory, and the nuances of queer experience. A regular contributor to storytelling festivals across Canada and a champion of inclusive, accessible storytelling spaces, Jeffrey brings both warmth and wit to every performance. His work invites audiences into moments of personal reflection while celebrating shared connection across diverse communities.
This event will also feature moving stories from Adam Frey, Jenny Jackson, Sarah Prisma, and Carmel Whittle — each adding their unique voice to a night of resilience, transformation, and celebration of LGBTQ2S+ life.
For those inspired to explore their own stories, Canton will lead a companion workshop titled Queering My Story: An Introduction to Telling Stories About Being 2SLGBTQIA+ or an Ally on Saturday, May 24 from 11:00 AM to 2:45 PM at Ottawa LabO (LBO 1202), 10 Daly Avenue. Designed for all experience levels, the workshop helps participants turn everyday experiences into meaningful personal narratives. Cost is $20.
