Ottawa Writers Festival extends gratitude to all their Patrons for supporting and sustaining the Festival!! Without their dynamic volunteers and generous Patrons, none of the festivities we get to enjoy would be possible. Patrons and volunteers are the heart of our community. Thank you on behalf of all of Ottawa International Writers Festival, the 102 authors welcomed onto the stage and the hundreds of high school students who were able to spend time with Richard Van Camp this Fall.
Writers Festival hopes to see you at their final event of the year. Charlie Angus is an absolute legend in both the world of music and the world of politics. Charlie is the author of nine award-winning books, but he’s never written one like this! In Dangerous Memory, Charlie Angus reexamines the cultural and political shifts of the 1980s. Weaving seamlessly between key events like the Chernobyl disaster, the AIDS epidemic, the fight against South African apartheid, and the fall of the Berlin Wall, contrasted by a spirit of resistance, creativity, and hope that pervaded a world on the brink of nuclear annihilation. Charlie puts his immense authorial talent on the millions who stepped up to save the planet and fight for human rights. Charlie takes the Festival stage on Tuesday,November 19th, at 7 pm, in St. John The Evangelist Church at 154 Somerset Street West.
