OC Transpo boosts service to the RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest

Writer: Hayley CombaluzierHayley Combaluzier

OC Transpo is the best option for residents and visitors travelling to Bluesfest this year, with frequent, direct service to LeBreton Flats from July 4 to 14. OC Transpo will be providing extra service to meet customers’ needs. Eleven routes (8, 16, 85, 86, 87, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98 and 107) are available that are for pick up and drop off at LeBreton Station. Free parking is available at Park & Ride lots across the city, with rapid transit service directly to LeBreton Flats. Route 107, which is replacing the suspended O-Train service this summer, will be increased in the evenings and on Sundays during Bluesfest. This will mean that Route 107 will operate every 7/8 minutes in the evenings and every 15 minutes on Sundays during the mid-day instead of every 30 minutes. The number of buses on rapid transit routes94, 95, 96, 97 and 98 will be increased from 11:00 to 11:45 p.m. to accommodate the crowds leaving at the end of the night. Additional trips are also scheduled at the beginning of the evening so festival goers can get to the venue as quickly as possible. Approximately 35 articulated buses will be added to the routes each evening, which can be increased as required. Route 8 may experience minor detours in the Booth Street area during Bluesfest. Para Transpo will be providing direct service to and from Bluesfest. Further information and travel planning assistance is available by calling OC Transpo at 613-741-4390 or by visiting octranspo.com.
