NCC’s award-winning sound and light show begins Wednesday night on Parliament Hill at 10 pm The National Capital Commission (NCC), in collaboration with the exclusive sponsor Manulife Financial, is pleased to present the summer season of Mosaika: Canada through the eyes of its people, beginning July 10th at 10 pm on Parliament Hill. This 30-minute bilingual experience uses spectacular lighting effects, stunning animated projections and a rich tapestry of words, music and sounds to tell the story of Canada using the historic backdrop of the Peace Tower and the Centre Block. NEW! For its fourth season, this award-winning sound and light show will feature new content highlighting milestone events in Canadian history as well as enriched audio and enhancements to the show’s overall pacing. New content includes a short segment on Samuel de Champlain, as 2013 marks the 400th anniversary of his first voyage through the Capital Region. Other additions to the show include a nod to the heroes of the War of 1812 and a glimpse down the road to Confederation as momentum builds toward Canada’s 150th anniversary. Visitors will also experience a new segment featuring Canada’s emergence as a great nation through the tumultuous events of the Twentieth Century. A Summertime Capital Experience During the summer, Mosaika will be presented each evening, free of charge, from July 10 until September 7, 2013 (weather permitting). Spectators can experience this amazing production in July at 10 pm, in August at 9:30 pm, and in September at 9 pm. The NCC has captivated audiences for close to 30 years with its sound and light shows. Launched in July 2010, and already seen by more than 730,000 spectators, Mosaika has garnered thirteen national and international awards, and for a second year in a row has been named one of the top 100 festivals and events in the province by Festival & Events Ontario.
