If spending time in the sunshine, moving your body and connecting with people in Ottawa’s fitness community sounds great to you then City of OM might be the perfect addition to your weekend.
City of OM isn’t just a yoga festival; it’s Ottawa’s largest outdoor wellness event.
And there are still full festival passes left!
Hosted at Lansdowne, the festival welcomes all people to come and celebrate community and movement.
What started over 10 years ago as a small community yoga get together has grown into what Dara Rosove calls “a full-fledged wellness weekend, with over 70 classes and 50 plus vendors.”

Rosove is the marketing manager of City of OM. She says, “The goal is to really unite the wellness community for one big celebration.”
They are bringing together local yoga and fitness studios, sustainable apparel brands and healthy food vendors in a way that “makes you feel good”.
“It’s a sampler of Ottawa’s best yoga and fitness, all in one spot,” she says.
City of OM understands that’s the boutique fitness world can feel very exclusive and expensive so they worked hard to create a space where even the most novice yogis can participate.
“Every class is an all-levels class. Our instructors have designed their programs specifically for this event,” she says. “Whether you're a complete beginner or an advanced athlete, you can enjoy the festival.”

There is none of that perceived pressure that sometimes comes with a small intimate class. This event is about community and allowing yourself to enjoy movement.
“There’s also this laid-back kind of atmosphere, you can take as many classes as you want bit if you want to just enjoy the vibes and lay down on your mat, you can do that to,” she says with a chuckle.
As some classes have limited space, to encourage fairness and guaranteed spots in a handful of classes, all ticket holders will be sent a link to pre-register for up to four classes ahead of time. Take a look at the schedule, pick your top four and get ready to sweat!

If you have any more questions about the festival be sure to check out the City of OM website or take a look at their Instagram @cityofom.
Rosove says, “there are no mirrors. There is no judgment. It’s just you and a bunch of other people who need to stretch.”
