Ottawa Chamberfest is announcing fantastic flexible pass options for the remainder of its annual Concert Series. With the Choose 4+ pass, buyers can tailor their Spring chamber music experience. Seven concerts remain in the Series, including: Sat, Mar 13 – Musicians of NACO – Anna Petersen, Yosuke Kawasaki, Manuela Milani, Paul Casey, David Marks, and Rachel Mercer in a program of Mozart, Braden, Britten, and Brahms. Mon, Mar 22 – Philip Chiu – Acclaimed Canadian pianist Philip Chiu shares music by Claude Debussy, John Burge, Amy Beach, and Franz Liszt. Tues, Apr 6 – Cheng² Duo – The closure of the sibling’s two-part celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday. Mon, Apr 19 – Collectif9 – Montreal’s Classical “string band” presents Rituæls, a show that invites contemplation, with works from the Middle Ages to the 21st century. Sat, Apr 24 – Echo Chamber – Music and dance intertwine in a dramatic collaboration that merges the intimacy of chamber music with the physical beauty of contemporary ballet. Mon, May 10 – Ironwood Quartet – The string quartet shares their “take no prisoners approach” (ARTSFILE) to standard and contemporary repertoire. Mon, May 31 – Chambersphere – The annual series closes with an immersive experience designed to challenge the boundaries of the small ensemble. Chamberfest is delighted to announce acclaimed Canadian pianist Philip Chiu’s performance on Monday, March 22nd, with a gorgeous program of Claude Debussy, John Burge, Amy Beach, and Franz Liszt. One of Canada’s most sought-after musicians, Chiu has performed with many leading musicians of the world stage, including James Ehnes, Jonathan Crow, Andrew Wan, Pascale Giguere, Raphael Wallfisch, Regis Pasquier, Alex Klein, and more. He has also recorded extensively, and recently released an album of John Burge’s 24 Preludes for Solo Piano. Due to travel challenges related to COVID-19, the Jeremy Dutcher concert, originally scheduled for March 22nd, has been cancelled. Chamberfest looks forward to inviting him to perform again in the future. Chamberfest continues its hybrid model of in-person and livestream performances, broadcast from Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre with world-class audiovisual production. Individual tickets are $20.
